KitchenBar, Jackon, Crazy Hippies

Saturday (6/30) I ventured into Brooklyn to have lunch with Janene. She was dying to try this small cafe called KitchenBar http://www.kitchenbarny.com/. I arrived before Janene, so I got myself settled with a diet coke and answered some emails. First to arrive was Jackson, a young fawn and white Boxer...He ruled.

SCIENTIFICLIFESTYLE A PIZZ
Thursday (6/27) I went to ScientificLifestyle's showcase @ Fontana's in Chinatown...Luckily for us, it had just started to rain, so we were able to truly experience the funky smell that oozes from the sewers...yum. ScientificLifestyle was absolutely excellent...Nicole was captivating as usual and the turn out was great.

After the show, everyone was starving, so we went to Apizz (prounounced ah-BEETS)http://www.apizz.com/. I ordered two dishes to share: Pollo alla Capricciosa- Crispy chicken breast paillard, arugula-tomato salad, lemon vinaigrette and Apizz Margherita Pizza- Plum tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella and fresh basil. Both were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place for a romantic date or for a nice place to dine with friends.

Rise Against & Rain

RISE AGAINST

Wednesday (6/27) was spent at Nokia Theater to see Rise Against, one of my two favorite bands. What a set! They played for an hour and 2o minutes and it was one of the best shows from them I have ever seen. For some portion of the show, I had to stand next to a wasted slut and a wasted dickhead who had no idea why they were even there...all they cared about was getting in each others pants! I wanted to throw them off the balcony. Anywho...after the show I went backstage to meet the band and hang out with some friends. It was a great night, but as I left the venue, I got stuck in a down pour before I was able to snag a cab. I went home and ate a microwavable pretzel with mustard...What a dinner!

Bowery and Fukien

DUSTIN KENSRUE
FUKIEN FRIED RICE
Tuesday night (6/26) was spent enjoying the alt-country sounds of Dustin Kensrue. He even entertained us with covers by Radiohead, Springsteen and Costello. What a guy! Following the show, we decided to go out for some celebratory Chinese Food from Congee Bowery. This is where we stumbled upon Fukien Fried Rice....Yes, Fukien. Overall, a pleasent evening
